Deep Economy
We read this in May/June of 2007 and found the ideas quite relevant and challenging. McKibben takes some of the morals of Wendell Berry (and others) and raises present day questions concerning growing consumer trends, the "good" we should do, and journalism to show what is going on around the world. Russ has some good posts over at Bloguss. This led us to want to go hear McKibben give the Keynote address at the 2007 ASLE conference. We blogged some of it here and here. And Richard took part in McKibben's organized "Step it Up 07" - a campaign to call congress to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. All that to say, we are keeping up with McKibben in the coming future!
